Our names are important. They identify us personally and legally. They are given to us by someone and occasionally by ourselves, usually with a purpose or meaning. Sometimes we are named after somebody, perhaps a real person or someone from a story. Other times, our names are selected because of what they mean. Still other times, our names are given to us simply because our parents like them.
